Ice cream sundaes are the perfect treat for any day or every day!!!

Here is what you need to not only survive but thrive in the ice cream sundae making process.

1.The Utilities & Vehicle: How To Best Serve the Icy Treat

A crucial part to sundae survival is securing the right utilities or equipment, such as the scoop! The scoop plays an important role in building your delicious icy treat and it's significance should not be ignored.

With so many scoops to choose from, you're sure to find the perfect one!

Don't risk bending all your spoons or missing out on creating the perfect ice cream sundae because you don't have the right ice cream sundae equipment. A quality ice cream scoop is a must...your wrist, spoons, and satisfied sweet tooth, will thank you later.

The vehicle: Cup or cone?

Equally important is how the creamy and delicious ice cream sundae is going to be delivered to your mouth. Will it be the classic cup/dish and spoon combo or the less common, but yummy cone? Or will it be a mix of the two like a waffle cone bowl? This is crucial in creating the best ice cream sundae as no ice cream vehicle is created equal.

What's better than a classic hot fudge sundae, especially when it has a waffle cone bowl?!

Dishes or bowls, like the classic glass ice cream sundae dishes, have the benefit of being able to stack your ice cream sundae high with goodies and sticky-sweet extras. Ice cream cones, on the other hand, are just fun and yummy to eat. In order to survive and make your ice cream sundae thrive, you need to have your ice cream vehicle prepped and ready to carry your sweet and prized possession that is ice cream.

2. The Right Creamy Foundation

It wouldn't be an ice cream sundae without the ice cream. The quality and flavor of the ice cream in a sundae plays a large role in the success and yumminess factor. When it comes to which ice cream you should get as your creamy foundation, you can never go wrong with a traditional, rich and creamy vanilla.

You can never go wrong with vanilla!

It is considered a classic for a reason! It complements anything you add to it without detracting. Chocolate is another classic choice that can complement a lot of ice cream sundaes. Other unique flavors can be fun to add to your ice cream sundae as well as long as they don't compete with your other intended ingredients in your delicious ice cream sundae concoction.

The Glue: Don't forget the Sauce!

An ice cream sundae wouldn't be a sundae without the sauce, as it glues or brings the ice cream sundae together! When it comes to ice cream sundaes and the sauce, your mind instantly goes to hot fudge, caramel, and strawberry syrup. These three are the classics, with a hot fudge sundae being the most iconic.

The Saucy Works

New ice cream sundae sauces are being created every day, some popular ones include: chocolate sauce that hardens into a chocolaty shell once coming in contact with the chilled ice cream, butterscotch sauce, peanut butter sauce, mocha, and so much more! There are so many choices, you can even make your own!

3. The Pizazz

An ice cream sundae would not be complete without the fun and sweet additions! Sprinkles are a definite must, they are the definition of pizazz and bring so much fun color to your sundae. Other exciting toppings to include are candy pieces like chocolate bars or a fan-favorite...gummy bears!

You can't have a sundae without a little pizazz

For a little yin-yang add some chopped salted nuts, it will also bring a new crunchy texture to your sundae! You can even add pieces of brownies or cookies for an extra delicious and rich treat. Or, if you're feeling you need some health with all this sugar, try adding some fruit or berries.

There are so many options to choose from, the sky is the limit when it comes to adding toppings or pizazz to your sundae. This is where you can become super creative and really personalize your ice cream sundae and maybe invent a whole new creation!

4. The Finishing Touches: Whip Cream and a Cherry on Top

No sundae would be complete without the classic whip cream and maraschino cherry. Whip cream to a sundae is like frosting on the cake and to me, it's not cake unless there's frosting.

It wouldn't be a sundae without whip cream and a cherry on top!

Choosing a thick, creamy whip cream is crucial, especially if you want to make that dome of whip cream that is so iconic when it comes to ice cream sundaes! Last, but certainly not least, is the cherry on top. Maraschino cherries will forever be a staple and a sundae wouldn't be an ice cream sundae without it.
